Last week was mostly spent in recovering. Shivam's stomach is now much more stable, although he still has loose motions and daily vomits. We have stabalized his feed at 45. Any increase over that resulted in excessive throwing up. Zofran and Ativan (anti-nausea meds) are his best friends right now. He is getting more strength in his legs and is almost able to walk straight without holding hands.
Last night we had to rush into emergency to get Shivam's nose tube fixed. Around 6, just before his chemo time, his tube refused to flush and I could not even push air into it. I called the doctor on call and she recommended we go to emergency and get this fixed. It turned out that I needed to push such blockages with more force than I was applying.
Today is another big chemo day. He would be getting another dose of Methotextrate (by mouth) in addition to Metcaptopurine. Evening, I guess would be full of nauseas but we will be prepared.

god will give u lot of power to stand with shivam........
Good Luck!!!
Hi Urmila and Nikhil.
We have been doing a lot of toxicity research in our school and looking into toys that are potentially carcinogenic, and found a great website with some useful resources called www.healthytoys.org. Thought that it would be good to go over it as simple toys like the rubber ducky can be dangerous and carry those toxins. Not like you have less on your plate already but when I came across this I just couldn't help myself sharing it with you.
Take care
Tulika

See, now you are seasoned veterans at this, too. It's a tiny bit easier to bear once you get into the swing of things and know more or less what to expect. I imagine life at home - while wonderful and appreciated - is also in some ways more stressful and draining than life in hospital. This whole journey is hard. But you are making it through, one minute at a time. Still thinking of you all often. Hugs, Mette and Baby Zoe
Hi Nikhil, this is a mother of a almost three year old. I came across your blog through some site. I read and saw you guys. You know you are Brave and you are strong. Please be strong, be a rock for each other. This is a chance to prove yourself that you can face difficult situations. And regarding Shivam, congratulations on being parents to such a cute and wonderful guy. He will come out of this and God will help him go through this. My prayers are with you. I will be praying for him and you all. Please be strong and take care of eachother from Urmila to your nine month old.
My Love, Hugs, Best wishes and prayers to you all...
